INVESTIGATIONS
The Investigations Bureau serves as the main investigative branch of the Spring Lake Heights Police Department. The primary responsibility of the Investigations Bureau is to conduct follow-up investigations of serious incidents that occur within the Borough of Spring Lake Heights. Our goal is to identify the actors responsible for crimes and offenses and enforcing the laws of the State of New Jersey. These investigations consist of interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses, analyzing information for validity, reliability, and accuracy and compiling a comprehensive and factual case to be presented in court for prosecution.
The Investigations Bureau is also tasked with crime scene and evidence processing, multi-jurisdictional investigations, surveillance, monitoring and registering convicted sex offenders (Megan’s Law), narcotics investigations, Alcohol Beverage Control and background investigations for police employment, raffle licensing, and canvassing (soliciting) applications/permits.
