ACCIDENT (CRASH) REPORTS

SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS POLICE DEPARTMENTThe Spring Lake Heights Police Department is proud to be digitizing its Accident (Crash) reports through a partnership with Carfax. The reports are stored electronically in a secure database and available for purchase online 24 hours per day / 7 days per week / 365 days per year at crashdocs.org for a $5.00 fee.

Please be advised Accident (Crash) reports are prepared by our patrol officers and therefore subject to a review process which can cause a delay in its availability. Generally, Accident (Crash) reports are ready within 7-10 business days after the initial accident. If there is an issue with the specific report, contact the officer that handled the Accident (Crash) so it can be remedied. If you are unable to pick-up your report in person contact the records officer at [email protected] or come to the police department during regular business hours for assistance.

When an officer is not called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident, a person can request and complete a Self-Reporting Accident (Crash) Form (SR-1) otherwise known as a “Late” or “Walk-In” M.V.A. report.  This “self-reporting” form that would be completed in its entirety by the requestor.  This report is typically completed when a “hit and run” Accident (Crash) occurs that results in minor damage to a vehicle or when two or more parties involved in a minor motor vehicle Accident (Crash) wish to exchange information for insurance purposes.  This form can be found below in our “LINKS/FORMS” section below.
